EDUCATION LOAN BOXES
We have loan boxes on several historical areas that may be of interest to you not only for discrete History teaching, but also for local studies and with the fossils box, the possibilities for both Mathematics and Art.
The boxes we have are:
TOYS
WORLD WAR II
WRITING
DOMESTIC ITEMS FROM THE EARLY PART OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
FOSSILS
Accompanying the boxes, we have a CD rom of many of the items. These comprise objects which are either too large or too delicate to be removed from the Museum. In addition, we have a DVD of people's memories of village life, work on the land, education in the early part of the last century as well as World War 2.
Loans by arrangement.
REMINISCENCE BOXES
The Museum has a reminiscence scheme for community use . Some of its artefacts from the middle of the twentieth century are packed in storage boxes which can be borrowed by residential and care homes for use with the elderly or those experiencing the early stages of dementia.
Currently the Museum has two boxes for this purpose: one can be borrowed by carers on a weekly basis and the second is designed to be used with Museum staff for a specific session in a home. It is advisable that the focus group is no larger than five.
PRIVATE TOURS OF THE MUSEUM
These can be booked with Elaine Nason on 01986 798531 as can the boxes above.
